The Dental Assistant plays a key role in supporting the dentist and dental hygienist in providing exceptional care to our patients. This role is also responsible for sterilization, preparation, and inventory management of dental instruments and supplies to ensure a smooth workflow.

Essential Duties:

  • Patient Interaction: Assist patients with minor difficulties, answer their questions, and provide directions as authorized by the dentist. Collect and record patient health history accurately.
  • Procedure Preparation: Prepare treatment areas promptly by sterilizing and setting up for procedures. Serve as the dentist’s chair-side assistant, delivering instruments and materials efficiently.
  • Infection Control: Maintain compliance with infection control and safety policies, including sterilizing reusable dental instruments, equipment, and proper disposal of contaminated materials.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate operatory supplies and compile lists for inventory control and ordering as needed.
  • Daily Operations: Complete assigned checklists and participate in daily huddles to ensure smooth operations.
  • Clinical Support: Assist with advanced procedures, including crown/bridge prep, oral surgery, and endodontic treatments.
  • Lab Work: Handle laboratory procedures such as pouring impressions, model trimming, and fabricating mouthguards, temporary crowns, retainers, and other appliances. Document and manage lab case follow-ups accurately.
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative instructions, oral hygiene education, consent forms, and other clinical education materials.
  • Scheduling & Communication: Schedule follow-up appointments as required and provide thorough handoffs to administrative staff regarding ongoing treatment needs.
  • Post-Procedure Care: Make post-operative follow-up calls to patients who underwent invasive procedures, such as extractions, crowns, or root canals.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Special Requirements / Certifications / Licenses:

  • X-Ray Certification.
  • Minimum of two years of dental assisting experience 
  • Current CPR certification.
