JOB SUMMARY
The Controls Engineering Co-op is responsible for assisting the Controls Engineer with real world application of industrial controls design and programming principles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Support design, programming, debugging, and/or machine qualification activities to ensure design conforms to project requirements and specifications.
· Read electrical schematics.
· Collaborate with Controls Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Electricians, Assemblers, and Project Management.
· Utilize AutoCad Electrical to assist in designing electrical and pneumatic hardware for industrial control systems.
· Utilize PLC, HMI, PC, Robotic, and Vision design software to assist programing a portion of a custom industrial control system.
· Utilize PLC, HMI, PC, Robotic, and Vision design software to assist in debugging a portion of a custom industrial control system.
· Perform proof of process tests and document results.
· Assist the Controls Engineer with project related tasks and assignments.
· Observe safety procedures
OTHER DUTIES
· Other duties as assigned.
· Maintain a clean orderly work area.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited bachelor’s degree for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, or similar field.
· 1 year work experience in an automation related, a plus.
