IT Project Engineer
Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Engineer to lead and manage IT projects while providing advanced technical support and serving as an escalation point for lower-level help desk technicians. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, technical expertise, and a passion for mentoring and supporting team members.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities


1. Project Management:

  • Plan, execute, and oversee IT projects with service delivery manager, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against these metrics

2. Technical Expertise:

  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues
  • Act as the final escalation point for unresolved issues from help desk technicians
  • Implement new systems and technologies as part of project deliverables
  • Ensure systems are integrated seamlessly with existing infrastructure

3. Escalation Support:

  • Serve as a technical mentor and escalation point for lower-level help desk technicians
  • Assist help desk staff with diagnosing and resolving challenging technical issues
  • Provide training and guidance to enhance the skills and knowledge of help desk technicians

4. Documentation:

  • Create and maintain detailed project documentation, including plans, schedules, and reports
  • Documents support cases and solutions for future reference and knowledge sharing

5. Collaboration:

  • Work closely with IT staff, project managers, and other departments to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to project documentation

Qualifications 


Required:

  • 3+ years working in IT department with experience in help desk or projects
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, networking, and security
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, virtualization technologies, and cloud services

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science
  • Industry relevant certifications such as: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat)
  • Proven ability to work successfully with limited supervision
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Customer service-oriented mindset


Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office, retail, and warehouse environment. Computers, phones, photocopiers and other various electronic devices are used daily


Physical Demands:

The employee is required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and sometimes crawl. The employee may frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally up to 25 lbs.

This position requires travel


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
