The Systems Support Engineer r will report to the Director of Information Technology.


Job Overview

  

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Support Engineer to join our 6-person IT team. This role combines advanced end-user support with system administration, focusing on cloud-based environments and modern endpoint management solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Intune and will contribute to the optimization and security of our IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities and Duties

  

End-User Support:

Serve as a point of contact for technical issues related to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Microsoft Intune.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues across devices managed via Intune.

Assist users with accessing cloud-based resources, including Office 365 and AVD.


Cloud System Administration:

Manage and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop environments, ensuring high availability and performance.

Configure and manage Intune for mobile device management (MDM) and endpoint management. 

Monitor and assist with the maintenance of Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage, and networking components.


Infrastructure:

Monitor and optimize cloud-based systems for performance and cost-effectiveness.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry best practices.


Project Support:

Contribute to IT initiatives such as system migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and software rollouts.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable solutions leveraging Azure and Microsoft 365.


Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of incidents, solutions, and system configurations.

Create and update technical documentation and provide training materials for end-users and IT staff.


Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT support or system administration roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Intune, and Office 365.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN) and endpoint security best practices.

Preferred Certifications (Optional):

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
  • CompTIA Security+
