Patient Financial Account Representative (Full Time)

Newberry is looking for a full time Patient Financial Account Representative, responsible for analyzing accounts receivable, resolving unpaid claims and handling billing inquiries. This includes follow up with third party payers as well as patients to ensure that payment is received in accordance with the payer contract. Patient Financial Account Representatives comply with all applicable federal and state billing laws and regulations. Work is performed collaboratively with all team members of hospital departments, physicians and physician office staff, third party payers and patients to ensure accurate and timely payment.

Requirements

Education:

  • Associate's degree or higher or High School Diploma or equivalent with two (2) years or more of specific revenue cycle job-related experience.
  • Successful completion of basic medical terminology course work.

Experience:

  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft products to include Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Versatile and flexible, willing to work within constantly changing priorities.
  • Prior experience with the Meditech BAR system.
  • HFMA – Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR).
  • Exhibits effective and independent decision-making skills.
