Position Summary:

The Content Creator at Rock Church is a dynamic and creative professional responsible for designing and producing engaging visual content across multiple platforms. This role supports the church’s mission to Know God, Grow in Community, and Make a Difference by crafting content that resonates with the congregation and broader community. From social media graphics and website wireframes to promotional videos and email visuals, the Content Creator works closely with the marketing and communications team to ensure all content reflects Rock Church’s values and messaging. The ideal candidate will bring innovation and visual storytelling to life, helping to elevate the church’s digital and communication efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Social Media Content Development:

  • Create original content, including graphics, videos, and posts, for various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
  • Maintain a consistent visual aesthetic and tone across all digital content, ensuring alignment with Rock Church’s branding guidelines.

Graphic Design and Visual Assets:

  • Design compelling visual assets for a wide range of media, including social media graphics, brochures, banners, merchandise, and promotional materials.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to produce visually engaging content for church campaigns, ensuring a cohesive and impactful visual narrative.
  • Design visually engaging email templates, newsletters, and other communication assets that reinforce the church’s message and drive engagement.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling visuals for internal and external communications, including presentations and reports.

Photography:

  • Capture high-quality photographs at church services, events, and special activities for use in social media, websites, and promotional materials.
  • Edit and organize photos for easy access and future use in campaigns and publications.

Website Wireframes and Digital Design:

  • Develop and update website wireframes and design mockups, ensuring an intuitive user experience and visually appealing layout that aligns with the church’s digital branding.
  • Work closely with web developers to translate visual designs into functional website elements that support Rock Church’s digital goals.

Promotional Video Production:

  • Shoot, edit, and produce promotional videos and short clips for social media, websites, and event promotions and recaps.
  • Film, create, and edit social media videos, including sermon recaps.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders to capture footage that tells the story of Rock Church’s events, initiatives, and community impact.

Campaign Collaboration:

  • Partner with the marketing and communications team to brainstorm, plan, and execute creative campaigns across all digital channels.
  • Assist in managing content calendars, ensuring timely execution and alignment with key church events, messages, and seasons.

Engagement and Analytics:

  • Monitor social media interactions and engage with the online community to foster meaningful connections and positive conversations.
  • Analyze content performance using engagement data, and optimize future content based on insights to improve reach and impact.

Content Optimization and Innovation:

  • Stay updated on the latest design trends, social media best practices, and content delivery strategies.
  • Implement SEO and accessibility standards to maximize the reach and effectiveness of digital content.

Requirements


Job-related Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

Training and Certifications:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and video editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
  • Familiarity with social media management platforms, SEO, and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Wix).
  • Certification in Google Ads or Advertising is a plus.

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in content creation, social media management, graphic design, and video production.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in digital and print design and visual storytelling.
  • Experience in a church, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization is a plus.

Organizational and Spiritual Requirements:

  • Member of the Rock Church (or willing to transfer membership to the Rock Church).
  • Demonstrate Christ-centered behavior at all times by treating people with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity.
  • Utilize the principles of Matthew 18 and Ephesians 4:15 to resolve differences of opinion with others. 
  • Successful completion of thorough pre-employment references and background checks, which include: social security verification, Local, State & Federal criminal conviction records search, national security database, and sex offender registry.
  • Attendance at all mandatory meetings and events. This includes serving at Good Friday, Easter, and Christmas services as well as the annual volunteer appreciation event.
  • Regular involvement in Rock Church activities, ministries, and events.
  • Tithe 10% to the Rock Church.
  • Signed acknowledgment of the Rock’s Statement of Faith.
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to the Rock’s policies, procedures, and employee handbook. 
  • Be self-motivated and goal-oriented, use good judgment, and be flexible and innovative.
  • Professional attitude and demeanor.

Physical Requirements:
