Description
- Assumes responsibility for coding and abstraction of all records using ICD-9 and HCPCS classifications systems.
- Reviews records to ensure optimum reimbursement per DRG based on medical record documentation.
- Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalency.
- Computer and medical terminology courses and/or related experience required. A.R.T. or R.R.A preferred.
- Ability to use Physicians' Desk Reference and other reference materials.
- CPC, CCS, RHIT or RHIA certification required.
- Comprehensive knowledge or ICD-9 and HCPCS classifications systems.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Communication and interpersonal skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is of light demand.
- Routine lifting demand. Routine lifting requirements of less than 25 pounds.
- Standing, sitting, walking, bending and reaching required.
- Works inside.
- Motor coordination and finger dexterity required to operate computer and other office equipment.

Salary Description
$18 - $29 per hour - Depending on Experience
