Metro PT is looking for a motivated, compassionate, forward-thinking licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to work closely with, and under the direction of a Physical Therapist. Responsibilities:

  • Actively participates in patient care, notifying the supervising Physical Therapist of matters concerning the patient's condition.
  • Follows the Plan of Care established by the Physical Therapist and practices within state practice guidelines.
  • Exercises sound judgement, care, professionalism and skill in the performance of duties.
  • Instructs and counsels patients effectively in exercises and recovery.
  • Identifies patient’s needs and exhibits compassion and caring.
  • Conveys potential modifications ensuring patient’s progress, safety and comfort to the Physical Therapist.
  • Completes documentation in the EMR to support the delivery of physical therapy services
  • Under direct supervision of and with co-signature by a PT, records daily notes.
  • Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests.
  • Helps treat patients by applying ice or heat packs, helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques as requested by PT.
  • Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Enhances physical therapy department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments, is a team player.
  • Reports any issues needing resolution to Physical Therapists.

Requirements
  • PTA, Licensed to practice in the State of Connecticut
  • Hands on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training and physical modalities
  • Ability to communicate and instruct effectively
  • Ability to delegate appropriate support care to non-licensed staff and serve as a resource in their training.
Salary Description
$62,000-$75,000
