The Director of Enterprise Business Intelligence & Analytics will lead the BI strategy for 12 BIG brands, overseeing data analysis, reporting, visualization, and data science across DTC (Direct-to-Consumer/Stylist) and B2B (Business-to-Business) channels. This leader will manage the enterprise data warehouse, data modeling, and analytics while guiding two external teams (data engineering and data science) and building an internal BI team. They will deliver actionable insights to optimize operations, drive revenue growth, and enhance customer experience, ensuring data-driven decisions are made at all levels—from managers to C-suite executives.
Responsibilities
- BI Strategy & Execution: Lead the BI roadmap for 12 portfolio brands (DTC, Stylist, B2B), driving initiatives to optimize revenue, operations, and customer engagement. Oversee BI and Analytics as distinct yet interdependent functions, ensuring each develops independently while aligning to drive overall business success over the next 3 years.
- Enterprise Data Ownership: Manage and optimize the enterprise data warehouse and data modeling to ensure data solutions are scalable, actionable, and aligned with business needs.
- Business Analysis: Identify, intake and prioritize the most critical analytics questions by clarifying requirements, developing hypotheses, and defining analytical approaches that generate insights for both DTC and B2B sales channels.
- Reporting & Visualization: Design and develop dynamic dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights across business functions, supporting decision-making at all levels.
- Data Science & Engineering: Collaborate with finance and other commercial and operational teams to support predictive modeling, advanced analytics, and data science initiatives to enhance demand forecasting, customer retention, and revenue generation across BIG brands.
- Data Governance: Build and enforce data governance frameworks to ensure consistent, high-quality data management across all brands and sales channels, enabling unified reporting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and ensure analytics are aligned with strategic goals, enabling data-driven decisions.
- Revenue Optimization: Leverage data to identify opportunities for revenue growth, performance improvement, and customer engagement, optimizing both DTC and B2B channels.
- Team Leadership: Lead two external teams (data engineering and data science) and help build and scale an internal BI team. Provide hands-on leadership while scaling the team with both in-house and outsourced resources.
- Strategic & Tactical Problem Solving: Balance between strategic problem solving and hands-on technical execution, defining and implementing end-to-end solutions for metrics creation, data development, reporting, and ad-hoc analysis.
- Clear Communication: Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders at all levels of the organization, from managers to executives.
- Scalability & Automation: Develop and implement scalable and automated BI solutions that evolve with the growing data needs of the organization.
- Change Management & Prioritization: Lead the change management process by prioritizing BI and analytics initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and addressing evolving needs. Drive process expansion to support scaling efforts, ensuring smooth transitions, and adoption of new tools, systems, and processes over the next 3 years.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, change management, and operational strategy within a multi-brand, metric-driven environment. Ability to translate data into actionable strategies that optimize performance and growth across DTC and B2B channels.
- Experience: 8-10+ years of experience in quantitative data analysis, complex problem solving, and strategic insights. Expertise in building and maintaining data systems, enterprise reporting, and overseeing data quality and ongoing maintenance.
- Leadership: 5-8+ years of experience building, leading, and scaling high-performing data teams, with a proven ability to manage both internal and external resources effectively.
- Data Governance: Experience building data governance frameworks by collaborating with various stakeholder groups to define data sources, standard metrics, and definitions across brands and sales channels.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced skills in SQL, data modeling, and experience with data engineering and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Azure, Power BI). Hands-on experience developing and maintaining enterprise data systems.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address both high-level strategic questions and detailed tactical challenges, ensuring that data solutions are practical, actionable, and aligned with business goals.
