Description

Join our team at Easterseals Iowa and make a difference in the lives of youth and families in the Des Moines metro and surrounding communities. We're seeking compassionate and dedicated therapists who are passionate about creating lasting behavior change through Multisystemic Therapy (MST). As a therapist with us, you'll empower youth and families by implementing strength-based interventions that have a lasting impact long after treatment ends.


As an added incentive, we're offering an $8,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates, along with the opportunity to receive up to $20,000 in loan repayment. Your work will focus on collaborating closely with families, youth, their communities, and other key support systems to address problematic behaviors and mental health concerns in adolescents aged 12-17.

MST involves intensive in-home and community-based interventions aimed at transforming family interactions, resolving peer and school-related issues, and enhancing social support networks. To qualify, you must have a valid driver's license, and reliable transportation. Candidates must be licensed in Iowa or soon to be licensed as a LMSW, LISW, tLMHC, LMHC, tLMFT, or LMFT. You should also be willing to participate in on-call rotations and work flexible hours to meet client needs in the Central Iowa Region.

Requirements

Must be a licensed mental health professional in the state of Iowa. 

Preferred experience: Direct use of pragmatic (i.e., structural, strategic, and functional) family therapies 

Therapy with children and adults using cognitive behavioral techniques 

Couples therapy using behaviorally based approaches 

Behavioral therapy targeting school behavior and academic performance 

Implementation of interventions within or between systems in the youth’s natural ecology that affect or influence the behavior of the youth (i.e., family, peer, school, and neighborhood) 

Collaboration and partnership with community agencies 

Previous work providing in-home or community-based therapy services 

Preferred Knowledge: Family systems theory and application 

Social ecological theory and application 

Behavioral therapies theory and application

Cognitive-behavioral therapy theory and application 

Pragmatic family therapies theory and application 

Child development research and its application in treatment 

Social skills assessment and intervention 

Must be able to pass criminal background check, driving record check, license discipline verification, and OIG check. 

Ability and willingness to participate in on-call rotation and work a flexible schedule according to client need.
