Women’s Care is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join our team. You will be responsible for providing oversight of the collection and processing of laboratory specimens. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical laboratory procedures, a passion for healthcare, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
About the Role:
This is a full-time opportunity working on-site at The Fertility Center of Oregon, a part of Women’s Care, on Country Club Road in Eugene, Oregon. The position has an expectation of 40hrs per week and we are proud to offer attractive pay and a great benefits package.
What will you do:
- Serve as communication liaison between the laboratory, physician and reference lab in delivering the highest level of patient care.
- Provide oversight in the collection and handling of patients’ specimens at practitioners’ request. Includes but is not limited to venipuncture, urine, and sperm collection.
- Educate the patient as directed in testing instructions and requirements as well as other information that will result in accurate and timely results.
- Process specimens for in-house and/or off-site testing. Communicate with supervisor(s) when unsure or unclear about procedures, before proceeding.
- Perform CLIA waived, moderate and high complexity testing as directed by the technical supervisor. Monitor and follow up on pending lab results to ensure timely reporting. Notify supervisor, provider, or nurse coordinator of abnormal or panic values.
What do you need to bring to the role:
- MT with a BS in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or Biology required.
- Experience with phlebotomy, hematology, chemistry, endocrinology, and microbiology preferred.
