Description

The Personal Care Direct Support Professional assists in the personal care needs of, and applicable documentation for, clients served in the day program.

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide for the personal care needs of adults enrolled in services.
  • Documentation of all personal care data.
  • Perform necessary housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Track personal care inventory and notify director.
  • Provide coverage and assistance for participants during lunch periods in day programming.
  • Assist in the implementation of instructional, industrial, and training activities in all relevant service areas (including Behavior Support Plans).
  • Demonstrate teamwork with staff and participants in the agency (including other departments).
  • Maintain acceptable work standards in all areas including attendance and punctuality.
  • Ensure compliance with all agency policy and procedures.
  • Assist in the intervention of crisis situations and complete the necessary documentation.
  • Assist in line coverage if needed
  • All other duties as assigned by the director

Requirements

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged standing
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to lift up to 125 pounds, with assistance, at times.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience with developmentally disabled population
Salary Description
$15/hour
