Description
Responsibilities
- Reviews prescriptions issued by Physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
- Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
- Reviews prescriptions issued by Physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
- Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, if applicable.
- Directs pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Actively engages patients and clients with respect to program integrations offered by the pharmacy.
- Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
- Instructs pharmacists and other pharmacy personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy, and maintains correct pharmacist to technician per state and federal law.
- Maintains awareness of third party-party systems and resolves rejection problems promptly, resubmits rejected claims for payment on a timely basis.
- Reports prescription errors immediately and adheres to company policy regarding medication incidents.
- Maintains awareness of loss prevention controls and procedures to identify and minimize profit loss.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with physicians and other health care professionals.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws including interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
- Minimum of 2 years of retail pharmacy manager experience preferred.
- Current licenses in good standing to practice pharmacy in the state of Louisianna.
- Ability to supervise pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Excellent customer service skills.
