Assistant General Manager
Description

As an Assistant General Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving membership growth, overseeing daily operations, and supporting the General Manager in leading a high-performing team. Your focus will be on sales performance, team development, and delivering an exceptional member experience. This role requires bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish and a strong background in sales, management, and preferably fitness or recreation.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership:

  • Generate sales leads through referrals, networking, outreach calls, presentations, and public demonstrations.
  • Oversee and maintain sales prospecting systems to ensure consistent lead generation and follow-up.
  • Promote and sell additional services and products, including personal training and supplements.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed personal and club sales goals.
  • Train and develop sales staff to improve selling techniques and achieve performance targets.

Team Development:

  • Support the General Manager in coaching and motivating sales staff to meet or exceed club goals.
  • Monitor sales team performance and provide ongoing feedback and direction.
  • Ensure adherence to company sales policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Lead by example, fostering a results-driven and positive work environment.

Operational Support:

  • Assist with daily club operations, ensuring efficient workflows and high service standards.
  • Address member concerns promptly and professionally, maintaining a positive member experience.
  • Step in to handle managerial responsibilities in the absence of the General Manager.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) proficiency is required.
  • Proven experience in sales and team management, preferably in the fitness or recreation industry.
  • Strong leadership, motivational, and coaching skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Professional demeanor with integrity, honesty, and a strong work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Requirements
  • Prior experience selling health club memberships and managing a sales department.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to motivate staff positively.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, management, and communication skills.
  • Must have a high level of professionalism, honesty, integrity, and work ethic.
  • Willing to work flexible hours.
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
