PURPOSE OF POSITION

  

The Head of Marketing is a strategic leader and responsible for driving Definiti’s brand, public relations, and digital marketing initiatives in the retirement plan marketplace. The individual will play a critical role in creating and executing strategic plans to drive organizational growth from managing lead generation, enhancing thought leadership, and supporting internal, corporate and client communications. The Head of Marketing is a member of Definiti’s executive committee.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Marketing Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive data-driven marketing strategy aligned with the company’s business goals, focusing on sales growth, client retention, and brand positioning and awareness that will expand our strategy for organic and M&A growth as well as becoming an employer of choice  
  • Brand Management & Public Relations: Oversee brand positioning and ensure a consistent, compelling narrative across all communication channels, including building a formidable online presence 
  • Digital Marketing & Lead Generation: Build and manage an end-to-end digital presence, including SEO, that supports lead generation and nurture campaigns, and overall Financial Advisor relations
  • Develop content strategies that position the company as a thought leader
  • Resource Management: Assess, recommend, and manage external vendors, ensuring the right investments are made to accelerate marketing’s impact
  • Oversee the development and use of high-quality marketing content, including case studies, white papers, and webinars to engage potential clients, financial advisors and prospective partnerships
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with internal teams, including M&A, sales, client services, and executive leadership, to align marketing initiatives with business priorities
  • Data-Driven Insights: Monitor and analyze key marketing performance metrics (KPI’s), ensuring campaigns and actions are optimized for effectiveness and ROI
  • Represent at industry conferences and events to promote our brand and drive business development
  • Identify co-marketing opportunities with complementary vendor relationships and organizations
Requirements

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Proven track record of leading lean marketing teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Experience managing brand, PR, and digital marketing, including lead generation and content marketing
  • Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to translate business goals into actionable and measurable marketing plans
  • Exceptional leadership, verbal and written communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to assess and optimize the use of external marketing resources for maximum impact

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • Minimum 5 years of well-rounded marketing experience to include building brand awareness, driving growth and expertise in digital, content and campaign management
  • Proficient in HubSpot or equivalent CRM 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Teams & PowerPoint

REMOTE WORKING REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to build rapport with others remotely while working productively with limited in-person interaction
  • Have access to a reliable and consistently strong, high-speed internet connection suitable for remote work. A stable, high-speed internet connection is essential for effective communication, collaboration, and productivity while working remotely
  • Designate a quiet, and well-lit space free of as many distractions as possible
  • Be online and available to work during designated business hours in local time zone
  • Accustomed to using Microsoft Teams (or similar virtual-meeting applications) to meet with colleagues regularly on video and use the chat feature for quick communications. We utilize many Microsoft Teams features (such as Channels and file storage) for announcements, relevant conversations, and file sharing. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams is a plus
  • Accustomed with file-storage and file-sharing tools such as Microsoft SharePoint
