GENERAL FUNCTION: Responsible for teaching the YMCA Swim Program to children and adults. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents/guardians.
• Maintains records as required (attendance, progress reports, etc.)
• Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled. 
• Be safety conscious at all times.
• Make swimming fun.

• Must posses and keep current the following certifications: Infant, Child and Adult CPR , First Aid, Ellis Teaching Certification.
• Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Bring safety concerns to the attention of management as necessary.
• Excellent customer service and commitment to students.
