The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of products and processes in our manufacturing facility. The Quality Engineer will work alongside production to monitor, test, identify defects and implement improvements. Will work to establish quality standards with Engineering and Production. The role will be responsible for compliance with standards, identify issues, recommend solutions and create quality documentation.
Responsibilities
· Set detailed guidelines on what needs to be checked and the quality standards.
· Determine and document quality metrics for all products.
· Perform root cause analysis of quality issues and recommend fixes.
· Review and augment current blueprints and visual aids.
· Part inspection, including layout, in process, final, and receiving using all types of mechanical inspection.
· Investigate product complaints and reported quality issues to ensure closure in accordance with company guidelines.
· Creating and updating supplier records of performance.
· Creating and promoting strategies to increase the quality and efficiency in production.
· Conduct audits of quality both internally and external suppliers.
· Perform quality testing as needed.
· Train and mentor, the team about Quality standards, QMS and Quality tools.
· Brainstorm ideas to create solutions for identified problems.
· Other duties as assigned.
· 2+ years experience as a Quality Engineer or in a similar role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
· Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and their application.
· Proficiency in 5 Whys, 8D methodology, and CAPA procedures, required.
· Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
· Good knowledge of GD&T and experience with CAD software.
· Experience in developing and implementing Quality Control Plans.
· Familiarity with Stratification tools, including Pareto charts and Histograms.
· Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
· Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and strong analytical skills.
· Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team environment, communicate openly, and contribute to group efforts to achieve shared goals.
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management, both internally and externally.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation once given direction.
