Supply Technician (ASP) - Wheeler
Job Description Summary:
The Supply Technician performs essential duties in support of the Munitions Division and works under the general supervision of the Operations Supervisor. This position involves technical supply management tasks using the Standard Army Ammunition Supply System (SAAS), including inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and related functions within depot, local, or other munition activities. Assignments require knowledge of program requirements, as well as consideration of variations from standardized guidelines.
This role requires a detail-oriented individual with technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to operational excellence in munitions supply management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrating a thorough understanding of governing supply systems, programs, policies, and guidelines.
- Analyzing and addressing problems by gathering data, establishing facts, and making recommendations based on established guidelines.
- Meeting the needs of the serviced organization through effective supply management and operational support.
This role may also involve supporting contract requirements related to environmental, safety, and security areas. Tasks include quality control, data management, and transactional accuracy using multifaceted information systems (e.g., MHP, MTMS, TAMIS, SAAS, CORPS, FACTS, VFS). The Supply Technician must comply with defined procedures and possess technical knowledge of relevant regulations, operational standards, and physical security measures.
Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain a favorable Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) background screen (DA Form7708)
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license
- Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Must be able to obtain AMMO certifications as follows:
- AMMO-31, AMMO-45, AMMO-63, AMMO-64, AMMO-67, AMMO-68, AMMO-75, AMMO-76, AMMO-108/AMMO Handlers, and AMMO-112
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed and adapt to support other job areas as operational requirements dictate.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Performing activities such as pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching
- Handling hazardous materials and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must obtain Powered Industrial Lift (PIT)/MHE certification as required
