Job Summary: The Pilot Summer Academy Teaching Fellow will be responsible for leading a specific rotation throughout camp. These different rotations include Science, Robotics, Pilot Television, Art, and Dance. Teaching Fellows will supervise campers and ensure their safety, development, growth, skill, achievement, and general well being.Summer Camp Teaching Fellows will be given a daily lesson plan each day and be responsible for teaching these lessons to groups of campers.
About Pilot Summer Academy: Pilot Summer Academy is a Summer Camp for young girls in grades rising 3rd-7th (having completed 2nd grade through 6th grade). Pilot Summer Academy provides students a holistic daily camp experience from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, around Science, Robotics, Pilot Television, Arts, Dance and Theater all hosted in the OLP state-of-the-art facilities. Each day, students will participate in a daily faith-based young women's specific devotional geared toward issues facing our young girls' today. Each day, student's will bring home their devotional and verse, and parents will receive an email about how they can expound upon the day's faith discussion. Additional activities include Camp Shirt, games, crafts, special guest speakers, field trips, Friday Fun Day, and more!
Camp will begin on Monday, June 16, 2025 and run through Friday, July 18, 2025.
Classification:
The position of Pilot Summer Academy Teaching Fellow is a Temporary seasonal employee, classified, non-exempt position that operates between 12 and 20 hours/week within the summer camp season. This position is not benefit eligible. Summer Academy Teaching Fellow rate of pay is offered at $17.25 per hour. Teaching Fellow reports to the Pilot Summer Academy Director, Abby Cota.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age and be going into their junior year of high school.
- Must be available to work June 16th through July 18th. (Note that there will be no camp on the Federal Holidays of Thursday, June 19 and Friday, July 4).
- Training for camp will occur the week before camp, June 9, 2025 through June 13, 2025. Specific dates and times, TBD.
- Must enjoy working with kids.

- Supervise campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill, achievement, and general well-being.
- Teach daily lessons in a designated area - Science, Robotics, Pilot Television, Art, or Dance.
- Provide support and encouragement to campers.
- Ensure that all safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with Pilot Summer Academy, including the whereabouts of your campers at all times.
- Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with Pilot Summer Academy.
- Must maintain a schedule for camp participants.
