What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data and AI Technical Lead to join our Data Platform team. The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, implementation, and optimization of our company's data and AI solutions. They will help identify AI based approaches and solutions to help us execute our vision and strategy. 

This role combines deep technical expertise with the leadership required to build cutting-edge AI and data driven solutions that enhance customer experiences, optimize operations, and improve decision-making. This role will work closely with the Data Product Lead and cross-functional stakeholders to integrate AI into core banking processes and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development andimplementation of Thread’s overall data platform and governance, including architecture, data pipelines, data lakes, data marts and warehouses to support advanced analytics and AI initiatives
• Serve as the subject matter expert on AI technologies, machine learning models, and data engineering, sematic modeling      and operations best practices
• Manage and mentor a small team of data engineers
• Collaborate with the Data Product Lead and key stakeholders to align data and AI strategies with business objectives
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulations and AI governance principles
• Implement robust monitoring and maintenance processes resolving issues for quality, data access, platform performance and query/model optimization
• Establish data governance, including quality checks, access controls, and security measures
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle for the Data Platform Team including feature engineering, training, testing and deployment
• Define operational thresholds and monitor platform health
• Explore emerging AI/ML technologies and assess their potential for driving innovation

Requirements/Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years’ experience as a proven Software Engineer
• 3+ years’ in Financial Services or Fintech
• 2+ years in either Machine Learning, Large Language Models or similar AI technologies
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Scala, C# or similar 
• Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks and deployment tools
• Expertise as a database administrator or operations leader
• Experience with Cloud, Data Lake, Data Warehouse and Data Mart systems (AWS or Azure)
• Understanding of multi-dimensional modeling and data warehouse design principles
• Experience with Jira and PowerPlatform (Power Automate, PowerBI, PowerApps)

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements
• Knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence tools 
• Strong leadership, communication and presentation skills
