Position Summary

 The nurse practitioner will perform psychiatric evaluations and medication checks as needed.


Essential Duties and Functions

1.Psychiatric treatment

· Perform psychiatric evaluations as needed.

· Perform medication checks as needed.

· Provide psychotherapy to clients as determined by the Medical Director and Program Director.

· Be available for consultations, support for emergencies.

· Complete necessary paperwork and procedure for involuntary hospitalization for patients if needed.


2. Clinical documentation

· Prepare and complete all paperwork required for regulatory inspections, insurance  authorizations and/or under LMCMS' policies.

· Record all clinical documentation in electronic health record.

· Review and Updating Psychiatric Evaluations, Treatment Plans of clients,

SSDI Evaluations, any other legally required documentation etc. in accordance with state regulations.

· Fill out all paperwork required by SSI/SSDI or by any other agency which works with the client.


3. Administrative

· Participate in inter-disciplinary rounds, case conferences, RHD meetings, community events, as required by the Program Director.

· Manage patient caseload

· Maintain all necessary licenses and certifications.

· Take all required continuing education courses


Qualifications

1. Prior experience as an RN & / or Nurse Practitioner.  Must be a certified psychiatric nurse practitioner.

2. Master’s degree. Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.

3. Knowledge and experience must compliment the needs of the position. Preferably with Psychiatric background/experience

4. Current RN and APN licenses from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (certified registered nurse practitioner) 

5. Current nationally recognized advanced practice certification or in progress. 

6. Physical and emotional ability to perform the duties and responsibilities associated with the position.

7. Proficiency in basic computer skills.
