The C.N.A Unit Clerk will:

Follows policies and procedures of the facility.

Ensure that:

  • All Medical Records are properly filed in the charts.
  • Handles Medical Records request using proper process.
  • History and physical are completed on all residents.
  • Annual chest x-rays are done on all residents.
  • Residents are reviewed at least every thirty days by physician.
  • Fills out requisition slips and notifies lab/x-ray.
  • Answers telephone and expedite delivery of messages and notices immediately on the units.
  • Schedule follow up appointments for all new admissions 
  • Schedule transportation for follow-up appointments 
  • Interact with patients and families 
  • Assist all other departments with miscellaneous tasks 
  • Distribution of supplies daily 
  • Inventory and ordering supplies 
  • Maintaining nursing supplies with assigned budget 
  • Cleaning and organizing supply room 
  • Keeps inventory of rented equipment and ensures equipment from contracted vendors are returned if no longer in use 
  • Keeps nursing station neat and well organized.
  • Keeps bulletin board updated, and files important information once removed.
  • Files all forms and posts notices from the Director of Nursing.
  • Always Upholds Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Assembles charts/ documents in preparation for admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
  • Take pictures of all the new residents, and others as needs arise.
  • Supports facility’s policies and procedures and helps interpret to families as appropriate and necessary.
  • Reports diet changes to Dietary Department.
  • Participate in in-service education when applicable.
  • Keeps all information relating to residents confidential.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

C.N.A Unit Clerk must have the following:

  • High school education required; clerical experience; must be organized and be able to work in fast paced environment.
  • Must possess valid chauffeurs license (not commercial) and have a good driving record.
  • Promote and facilitate teamwork 
  • Demonstrate a high standard of ethics 
  • Dependability 
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service  
  • Prior experience with ordering health care supplies 
  • Computer and Email Skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple phone lines
  • Experience working in LTC or hospital setting 
  • Certified Nursing Assistant Certification per state requirements
  • Ability to work weekends and or holidays if necessary 
  • Compliant with the state’s Health Care Worker Background Check requirements with respect to criminal history
