Parker Indian Health Service Hospital is hiring for a Full-time Emergency Room Physician, Locum long-term assignment.

We are seeking Experienced Emergency Room Physicians to join our Parker Indian Health Service Hospital ER Team. This Long Term up to a Full-Time Locum/Contract opportunity can be up to 1 year with possible extension options.

  • Hospital ER physician
  • Flexible Hours, based on the needs of the department
  • 13-hour shifts
  • Local or Travel Locums welcome
  • Experience as an ER, MD/DO Required
  • 2-3 years of experience Needed
  • IHS facility experience preferred helpful
  • Previous Locum Tenens experience preferred
  • Board certification in ER Required
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS required
  • Work on any US license


Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality emergency care to patients in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. The Emergency Medicine Physician will play a critical role in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients presenting with acute medical conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients in emergency situations to determine the nature and severity of their conditions.
  • Provide immediate treatment for a wide range of medical emergencies, including trauma, cardiac events, and respiratory distress.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare providers to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Perform necessary procedures such as spinal taps, wound care, and vascular radiography as required.
  • Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients treated in the emergency department.
  • Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with advancements in emergency medicine and related fields.
  • Engage with patients and their families to provide education on health management and follow-up care.

Requirements


  • Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration from any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
  • Must be Board Eligible or Certified, Board certification in Emergency Medicine 
  • Must have current BLS, ACLS, ATLS & PALS
  • Certification of Education - copy of diploma or transcripts
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program 
  • DEA license and eligibility to prescribe medication 
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Emergency Medicine 
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills 
  • May require a current driver's license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities 
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to patient-centered care 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule 
  • Must be a US citizen, Primarily living in the USA
  • Willingness to comply with all state and federal regulations regarding medical practice
