Summary of Position: This position will be responsible for donation pickups/drop-offs and shuttling trainees/guests. This position will work closely with the Donation Center and Vocational training management to help instruct trainees and schedule transportation. This position will Interface with trainees, donors, clients, volunteers and partner agencies as an ambassador of the Springs Rescue Mission and a representative of vocational training. This position will also instruct trainees and oversee volunteers on an ongoing basis
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Vocational Training Manager/Volunteer team to instruct, guide team on best practices
- Works with management to coordinate deliveries and pick ups
- Receive donations and interfaces with donors
- Completes and compiles appropriate record-keeping, documentation, driver logs and necessary paperwork including, incident/accident reports, police reports, and insurance claims
- Report traffic violations, accidents or damage to any mission vehicle.
- Communicates all obstacles, poor driver performance, and operational issues
- Helps with proper instruction of trainees in Vocational training to include in class instruction
- Delivery, set-up and tear down of SRM events
- Daily maintenance and upkeep of vehicles to ensure maximum performance, ensuring vehicles are clean, and are properly operating safely and that they are fueled .and have correct fluid levels, and etc.
- Supports proper training and recognition of volunteers for their partnership with Springs Rescue Mission.
- Utilizes appropriate systems for vehicle key inventory and storage.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Previous driving experience, including driving in inclement weather
- Certified Forklift Operator with OSHA certification preferred
- 3-5 years driving experience
- Experience driving Box trucks preferred

- Serves as an advocate for the homeless and raising awareness of the needs and concern for the addicted, and those in poverty; engaging others within one's influence on greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of this population in Colorado Springs.
- Holds a valid Colorado driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and guidelines
- Basic knowledge and understanding of all applicable safety, and OSHA related regulations
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly trustworthy and conscientious - dependable and responsible
- Must be able to read, write and perform basic mathematical computations
- Able to safely complete duties in a timely manner
- Knowledge of Colorado Springs area including the ability to utilize navigational tools
- Knowledge of safe handling and lifting techniques
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICALFACTORS:
Occasionally= 1%-33%; frequently= 34%-6696; continuously= 67%-100%.
- Primarily indoors in typical office environment with climbing of stairs required on daily basis.
- Frequently: must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, moving between SRM buildings, bending, stretching, carrying, standing, carrying, kneeling, reaching, lifting, walking, talking, manual dexterity, climbing of stairs Continuously: sitting, adequate vision and hearing, good mental condition to withstand consistently medium to high levels of stress

Salary & benefits include the following: $18.00/hour DOE.
