Software Engineer III

Description

Assured Information Security has an opening for a Software Engineer III. From embedded systems to laptops and servers, we build and deliver software to ensure our government and commercial customers have secure access to their mission-critical resources from any location, even over untrusted networks. 


What You’ll Do:

  • Develop, debug, and test different software solutions. 
  • Investigate and solve technical issues both individually and as a contributing team member. 
  • Assist in the development of user manuals and training materials. 
  • Accurately estimate the duration and effort required for short tasks.
  • Lead small development efforts.
  • Mentor peers and provide guidance/direction
  • Evaluate tasks and deliverables for technical quality and ensuring that technical standards are being met
  • Contribute to status reports and accurately communicating status to Team Leads.
  • Contribute to technical content to contract proposals and task orders.
  • Participate in design and architecture discussions

Education/Experience/Skillset Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline and 5 years relevant work experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years’ experience working with imperative languages
  • 3 years’ experience with C/C++
  • 2 years’ experience with Python, Bash, or other scripting languages
  • 2 years’ experience working in a Linux environment
  • Proficient in software design
  • Experience with version control software (Git)

Preferred Experience/Skillset:

  • Experience with low-level, kernel and/or driver development
  • Experience with secure software development practices
  • Familiarity with cross-domain systems, virtualization, and VDI environments
    • Xen
    • QEMU
    • OVMF
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker)
  • Experience working with trusted platform modules (TPMs)
  • Experience working with Open Embedded
  • Familiarity with Golang
  • Experience writing proposals, white papers, and technical designs/documentation
  • Knowledge of DoD environment, systems, and applications
  • Contributions to open-source projects

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret within 12 months of hire.


Travel Required: Up to 10%

US Salary Range: $103,346 - $142,000

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
