Our vibrant, play-based Jewish preschool is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our exceptional team of educators. This role is ideal for an energetic individual with a passion for making a positive impact on young children and a solid understanding of early childhood development principles.
The Preschool Teacher will support the growth and education of students by utilizing child observation to inform lesson planning and goal setting. This role involves fostering a nurturing classroom environment that supports learning and is tailored to the physical, social, and emotional needs of each child. Additionally, the Preschool Teacher will collaborate with parents, maintaining open and effective communication to strengthen the home-school connection.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains accurate, complete and legible documentation.
- Participates in school-wide events, scheduled meetings and parent- teacher conferences.
- Provides communication with parents about behavior, needs, daily activities, academic performance and social acclimation of children.
- Works alongside lead teacher, parents and the ECC Administration in seeking resolutions to challenging behavior via formal and informal communication methods.
- Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans with developmentally appropriate activities and expectations that address learning styles, abilities, interests, behavior problems, and student specific goals, including customized classroom activities by providing differentiated small and large group instruction.
- Establish classroom routines to promote a positive environment conducive to effective instruction and developmentally appropriate experiences.
- Manage classroom behavior through constructive discipline techniques that build a positive classroom community.
- Work with Child Development Specialist to support challenging behavior in the classroom.
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
- Recent negative TB Test (required)
- CPR and First Aid (preferred)
EXPERIENCE
- Associate's Degree in early education/related field (required)
- Minimum of five years classroom experience with children birth to five

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Employees may be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.
- Must be able to kneel, crouch, stand, walk, lift and perform repetitive motions for extended periods of time.
- Employees may also be subject to body fluids and odors.
