Position Title: Warehouse Inventory Clerk - Forklift Driver and Box Truck Operator
Reports To: Warehouse and Inventory Supervisor
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hrs./week
Position Overview:
As an Inventory Clerk – Forklift Driver and Box Truck Operator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory counts and ensuring the smooth flow of goods between two primary warehouse locations, the Eden Brothers Warehouse and the Quality Point Warehouse. This position combines essential inventory management tasks with the added responsibility of operating a forklift and driving a 26-foot box truck for product transfers. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to collaborate with warehouse teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Perform daily inventory counts, updating and maintaining records in the company’s inventory software system.
- Receive, inspect, and log shipments, ensuring delivery accuracy and reporting any discrepancies or damage.
- Stock and organize inventory in appropriate locations, ensuring items are accessible and correctly labeled.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and work closely with the Inventory Supervisor to correct errors.
- Consolidate stock from multiple bins into designated areas and ensure the warehouse remains organized.
- Assist with product labeling to ensure all items are accurately marked for storage or shipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
Forklift Operation:
- Safely operate a forklift to move pallets and materials within the warehouses, supporting inventory management and restocking efforts.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper stacking and secure transportation.
- Perform pre-shift inspections on the forklift to ensure equipment is safe and functional, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Restock items in designated areas to maximize space efficiency and support large product movements.
- Oversee secure transport of heavy or oversized items using the forklift.
- Comply with all OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and warehouse safety standards.
Box Truck Operation (26-ft):
- Drive a 26-ft box truck between the Eden Brothers Warehouse and Quality Point Warehouse, transporting goods safely and efficiently.
- Meet DOT North Carolina requirements, including maintaining a clean driving record, completing an annual physical, and any other required certifications.
- Perform pre-trip inspections, including checking fuel levels, tires, and the overall condition of the truck, ensuring it is in optimal driving condition.
- Complete training on load securing, weight limits, and efficient truck packing to maximize cargo space.
- Conduct regular checks and report maintenance needs on the truck to ensure continuous compliance with DOT and company standards.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to prioritize inventory transport needs and ensure timely delivery between locations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support other warehouse operations, including assisting team members with picking, packing, and general warehouse duties.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth completion of inventory and logistics tasks.
- Maintain paperwork for all inventory movements, including packing lists, receipts, and inventory count reports.
- Work closely with the Production Manager/Team Lead to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient stock management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- OSHA certification for forklift operation (training provided).
- Clean driving record with a valid commercial or appropriate driver’s license as required by North Carolina DOT.
- Ability to pass an annual physical and drug screening and adhere to DOT requirements for operating a commercial vehicle.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate inventory counts and warehouse operations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy, including experience with inventory software, tablets, and barcode scanners.
- Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
