Description

The Electro-Mechanical Technician II at Mate Precision Technologies maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs CNC machines in a timely manner to limit machine downtime. This job demands a broad technical knowledge of electromechanical principles and good working knowledge of manufacturing machines and processes.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Apply extensive knowledge of CNC machines.
  • Disassembles, maintains, and repairs systems of equipment such as power supplies, monitors, scaling devices, servomechanisms as well as the mechanical components they supply.
  • Repairs electronic and electromechanical control equipment associated with automated machine tools and servomechanisms.
  • Utilizes test instruments to diagnose, test machine problems, and evaluate operation variations; replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments as required.
  • Replaces, adjusts, and calibrates components to align control apparatus to operating specifications. Aligns machine axis and machine systems.
  • Performs regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities.
  • Works from complicated drawings, diagrams, and specifications involving electrics, mechanics, and electronics.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric systems.
  • Requisitions materials to accomplish repairs and maintenance as required.
  • Communicates with vendors and machine builders; works closely with and coordinates procedures with engineers and mechanics on the installation of new equipment and modifications of equipment to suit needs and applications.
  • Creates electrical circuits for special needs or purposes.
  • Designs, installs, and programs logic devices.
  • Plan for and move/rearrange equipment and devices assuring proper consideration and conformance to OSHA safety and health requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Trade school certificate and/or a degree in a mechanical or electrical-related field with emphasis on CNC Machines preferred; or 3-5 years’ work experience or combination of trade school and work experience repairing and maintaining the electronics of CNC controls in lieu of degree is desired.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Work independently or in a team setting.
  • Knowledge of algebra and trigonometry is highly preferred.
  • Possess mechanical and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Demonstrate integrity and respect, dependability, honesty and accountability.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
  • Use of hand to finger.
  • Frequently lift, move, push, and pull up to 60 pounds.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Noise level is moderate.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.

Pay, Work Schedule, & Benefits:
