Description
What You’ll Do
As a Human Capital Associate, you’ll play a key role in supporting employees and leaders across all areas of the employee lifecycle, bringing sincerity, empathy, and a collaborative spirit to your work. You will act as the first point of contact for employee queries and concerns, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Located in Amsterdam you’ll report to the Vice President of Human Capital in the US and will work closely with the Managing Director in Amsterdam.
Your responsibilities will include:
Generalist Responsibilities
- Carry out Human Capital priorities and initiatives for the year with focus and self-motivation
- Drive the recruitment of interns and full-time employees, ensuring an ethical and fair process
- Collaborate with the US Human Capital team to review and improve policies, processes, and communications, promoting clarity and consistency
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and internal policies
- Administer HR documentation, such as contracts, amendments, and exit paperwork, in line with company policies and legal requirements
Employee relations
- Serve as the main Human Capital contact for the Amsterdam office, supporting leaders and employees with care and patience
- Provide guidance on employee relations, addressing challenges with empathy and offering practical solutions
- Assist with onboarding for new employees and offboarding for those leaving the company, ensuring a smooth and professional process
- Monitor key HR metrics, such as turnover, engagement, and performance, to identify trends and propose solutions for improvement
Total Rewards
- Work with external partners and Accounting team to manage payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payments
- Keep up-to-date reports on pay, bonuses and promotions, focusing on accuracy and detail
- Provide guidance on policies related to employee benefits, such as family leave, with compassion and understanding
- Support employee recognition programs that highlight gratitude and foster a positive workplace culture
Communication and Engagement
- Help create and deliver Human Capital communications that are clear and easy to understand for all employees
- Assist with the launch and analysis of the annual employee engagement survey, looking for insights to improve the workplace
Other Responsibilities
- Assist in organizing employee events, health initiatives, and wellbeing resources
- Take on new tasks as they arise, adapting to changing priorities with patience, self-awareness, and a focus on continuous improvement
Requirements
What You Bring
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; advanced degree a plus
- Knowledge of Dutch labor laws and regulations
- 2–5 years of experience in Human Resources or a similar field, especially in areas like employee retention, professional development, or total rewards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds
- A willingness to learn, stay curious, and improve processes
- Adaptable and flexible mindset, with an ability to pivot quickly with conflicting priorities and deadlines
- A down to earth, self-starting, hands-on mentality
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
