TITLE: Program Resource Assistant  EEO#: 1

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Program Manager  DEPARTMENT: Francis House Center

DESCRIPTION:

Under direction of the Program Manager and with independent professional responsibility, functions at a highly skilled level in such areas as professionalism, record-keeping, assessment, individual coaching, community resource referrals; mainstreaming participants to community services. The ideal candidate will have the ability to maintain a strength-based perspective and be able to work with low-income adults from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds who have a history of homelessness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Screens clients either in person or by telephone to determine their needs and eligibility for program assistance. 

· Responsible for direct services and all of its components offered at Francis House Center.

· Able to calmly triage guests and process all intakes.

· Maintains guest and staff sign in logs and documents direct services provided. 

· Provides excellent customer service.

· Provides resources and referrals to guests (to include singles and families) that are seeking emergency and long term housing, food, AOD and mental health services, legal support, utility assistance, and other resources or services. Tracks every referral and service provided according to Agency policy and procedures.

· Provides guidance, training and support to volunteers and interns in their everyday work. 

· Provides one-on-one crisis case management for guests when they are unable to navigate through the resources provided.  

· Assists in soliciting and administering receipt of agency donations. 

· Responsible for administrative tasks including; multiple phone lines, faxes, data entry, compiling monthly reports, memos, and outlook. 

· Responsible for maintaining organization of program files.

· Participates in Next Move Homeless Services outside training and staff meetings as directed.

· Organizes multiple office tasks and program support activities.

· Operates a variety of computer programs.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

· Social casework objectives, principles, and methods; public welfare laws and the functions of public welfare agencies; principles of community organization and problems which call for the use of both public and private community resources; individual and group behavior and effects of social and economic forces upon individuals and families; principles and techniques of interviewing and documentation in social work; group facilitation; basic computer skills/applications; and cultural diversity.

ABILITY TO:

Use computer and peripheral equipment; document according to agency standards; work effectively with staff, participants, and the public; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; prioritize work assignments; etc.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· One-year experience providing administrative support in a community oriented program with demonstrated computer proficiency; OR Two years of experience providing administrative support in a community oriented program; OR Any combination of education, training, and experience which would provide the knowledge and ability to complete the duties outlines above. Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural knowledge is desirable.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

· This position requires the ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written information, thinks critically; analyze information, makes reasonable decisions. 

· This position requires a full range of physical mobility, such as bending, stooping, lifting, turning, carrying objects, and grasping, finger dexterity and the ability to see and hear.

WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS:

· Work is primarily performed in an office environment.

· High adaptability required. 

· Work environment is usually hectic (fast-paced) with frequent short deadlines and regular instances of critical or unusual situations.

Salary Description
$18.00 an Hour
