Description

Greenville University’s Office of Spiritual Formation will hire 2-4 student chaplains for the 2025-2026 academic year who will provide spiritual leadership and care for students. Student chaplains will walk alongside other students, offering encouragement, prayer, and intentional relationships that focus on being Christ’s presence within their communities. Student chaplains will also have the opportunity to plan, lead, and provide administrative support to various spiritual formation programs across campus. While chaplains will work collaboratively, they also may be assigned to specific ministries. This student leadership position will work with and under the supervision of the University Chaplain and will average 5 hours of work per week. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in community events, including spiritual formation events, regularly, focusing on building relationships
  • Respond to students’ spiritual needs, as they arise 
  • Meet biweekly with the chaplain team
  • Meet biweekly with the University Chaplain for personal and professional development
  • Other duties as assigned and as it relates to each student’s position, gifts, and interests
Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be Enrolled in 6+ credit hours at Greenville University 
  • Committed to the Good News of Jesus Christ and desires to follow Christ’s example within their life
  • Displays emotional, relational, and spiritual maturity 
  • Able to work with and support a diversity of practices and beliefs within the Christian faith and life
  • Must be in good standing with the University (academic, disciplinary, chapel)

Required Dates:

- On-campus training August 17-24, 2025 Walkabout strongly encouraged
