Description

St Theresa Catholic Church, an energized and highly active parish, located in Belleview FL, is presently seeking a full-time Coordinator of Faith Formation.  In coordination with the Pastor, the Coordinator of Faith Formation is responsible for the direction of the PreK through adult faith formation. This position also oversees parish ministries of Alpha and Small Groups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Builds a sustainable faith formation program with a vision for future growth
  • Coordinates, supervises, and acts as a resource person PreK through adult faith formation. 
  • In conjunction with the pastor, staff, and/or others, develop and implement a coherent and unified curriculum and catechetical plan for the parish.
Requirements

  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in theology, Catechetics, or Pastoral Ministry or related field required, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and certification. Experience in parish ministry, including lay ministry or ministry leadership responsibilities. Completion of Lay Minister certification or degree program is an asset.


OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Effective communication, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

· Knowledge of Catholic doctrine and beliefs as presented in the documents of the Second Vatican Council, the Catechism of the Catholic Church and other relevant ecclesial documents and publications.

· Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

· Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.

 - Must pass diocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening.
