Description

CareLink is a non-profit, mission-based 501c3 organization that was founded in 1997 by non-profit post-acute and community-based organizations specializing in the care of older adults and adults with disabilities. These organizations include long-term care, housing, hospice, home care, assisted living and adult-day health. In addition, CareLink is a direct provider of a range of health and wellness services including rehabilitation (PT/OT/SLP), mobile dental, audiology, podiatry, psychiatry, brain health and wellness services. We keep individuals doing the things that they want to do, independently, in the place they call home.  


This is a part-time role with flexible days and hours seeing patients both in our office in East Providence and on-site at community locations across the state of RI.


Duties include completing hearing exams, fitting, adjusting and maintaining patients’ hearing aids and providing treatment for balance disorders. 


Essential Functions

  • Provides rehabilitative audiological services. Administers and interprets audiological tests, develops a treatment plan, and establishes goals for each patient. Monitors progress of recommendations and treatment plans and reassesses as appropriate. 
  • Calibrates equipment, prepares related reports, and maintains the audiological suite, materials, and supplies. 
  • Communicates with patient and family and provides counseling when appropriate. 
  • Provides case management services and makes client referrals to other social or health service agencies. 
  • Logs procedures and submits charges to the department secretary for submission to the billing department. 
  • Writes evaluation reports and daily progress notes on a timely basis. 
  • Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge in field of audiology. Prepares and presents in-service education to staff and the community. 
  • Assists in implementing and monitoring the departments quality assurance program. 
  • Assists in supervising student interns. 
Requirements

Qualifications – Required

  • Masters degree or equivalent in audiology. 
  • Current license or eligibility for licensing as an audiologist. 
  • Certified or certification eligible by the American Speech and Hearing Association. 
  • Ability to communicate with patients about sensitive topics 
  • Ability to work with other medical professionals as needed to diagnose and treat patients

  • Ability to apply medical knowledge to patient cases to treat and diagnose each case 


Physical Demand/Work Environment

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. 
Salary Description
$50/hr depending on experience
