POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing Fellow will be an integral member of the Marketing and Communications Team, supporting the development and execution of strategies to elevate awareness of Roundup River Ranch’s mission. This two-year fellowship is an exceptional opportunity for recent college graduates seeking hands-on experience in marketing, communications, and content creation within a dynamic nonprofit environment.
In this role, the fellow will:
- Brainstorm and implement innovative strategies to promote Roundup River Ranch’s mission.
- Create engaging, heartfelt, and emotionally compelling content that highlights the magic of camp.
- Support annual marketing campaigns and content strategies to connect with diverse audiences
The Marketing Fellow will gain practical experience, access to creative tools, and mentorship in storytelling, content creation, and creative strategy. This role provides opportunities to work independently and collaboratively while building essential skills and contributing to the meaningful work of Roundup River Ranch.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Marketing Fellow
- Ensure that all aspects of Marketing and Communications reflect the mission, vision, and values of Roundup River Ranch.
- Assistance with email marketing efforts.
- Contribute/support social media strategy, including content creation.
- Support graphic design efforts for print and digital materials.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to design, develop, and review written, graphic design, photo and video content for internal and external communications.
- In collaboration with Marketing and Development Team to create branded content for signature events and third party events.
- In collaboration with Marketing and Development Team to create branded content for recruitment of campers and volunteers.
- Maintain and update website content, including seasonal images, copy, and documents.
- Take photos and video for Roundup River Ranch for website, emails, and social media.
- Contribute to the Roundup River Ranch blog as needed, in collaboration with the Marketing Coordinator.
- Working with the Marketing Coordinator, organize and manage the photo and video library, including quotes and testimonials from various audiences.
- Monitor and support Roundup River Ranch’s reputation across all digital channels, including social media and Google platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate cohesive marketing and communication materials, building project management skills in the process.
- Assist with the training of volunteer photographers and seasonal marketing staff roles.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all aspects of role.
Professional Development & Leadership
- Participate as an active member of the Marketing Team during summer programming for content collection, providing onsite support.
- Attend and engage in seasonal camp training, marketing team meetings, and cross-departmental planning sessions.
- Take part in monthly professional development webinars, trainings, and skill-building opportunities (e.g., graphic design, storytelling, video editing, photography).
- Contribute to Roundup River Ranch’s brand refresh and website redesign project, supporting efforts to launch in 2026.
- Build a portfolio of diverse work samples to showcase to future employers.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Ability to quickly prioritize and work within deadlines.
- Well-developed, strong writing skills and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates the Guideposts in all aspects of work.
- Interest and ability to write creative content for marketing materials.
- Must be comfortable using computers, interviewing campers and families, staff, volunteers, and donors.
- Ability to problem solve and think creatively, strong collaboration and team building skills required.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
- 4 year degree and/or equivalent work experience preferred
- Previous experience working with children who have a serious illness and / or special needs is a plus.
- Computer proficiency and practical experience in word processing, database and internet navigation.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Experience video editing is a plus.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
This is a full time, year round short term fellowship position. The Camp Fellow will be employed for 2 years from hire date. Upon completion of the 2 year assignment, the Camp Fellow will have the skills and experience to progress their career in the marketing and communications fields. If a position of interest were available at the time of the end of the 2 year fellowship assignment, the Camp Fellow will have the opportunity to apply for a full-time year-round position. Please note, a position on our full time year round team at the end of the fellowship is not guaranteed.
