We are seeking a highly skilled fabricator to join our team. This role combines design and hands on fabrication to support the production of high-quality parts and assemblies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication techniques and how to efficiently produce high quality, manufacturable products. This the opportunity to join a fast growing and fast paced shop in the automotive manufacturing field and utilize your creative abilities to help drive new product design.
Requirements:
- Perform hands-on fabrication of custom projects and prototype parts- including welding (TIG & MIG), cutting, bending, and assembly of metal and other materials to create components and final products.
- Collaborate with design and production team to develop manufacturable designs, optimizing functionality, quality, and cost-efficiency.
- Blueprint and Specification Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, CAD models, and other design specifications to understand project requirements.
- Create or modify fixtures and jigs as needed to support efficient, repeatable production processes.
- Inspect and verify fabricated parts to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards, making adjustments as necessary.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with production, engineering, and quality control teams to align on project requirements and timelines.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance fabrication efficiency, reduce waste, and improve safety.
- Minimum of 5 years in fabrication.
- Proficient in welding, cutting, and metalworking techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and CAD models.
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Familiarity with shop safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Experience with CNC machines, press brakes, or other advanced fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods.
- Previous experience creating or modifying jigs, fixtures, or custom tools.
- Portfolio of past work to show fabrication skill.
