Position: Weekend Experience & Special Events Director
Location: Adventure Campus
Reports to: Executive Pastor
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Job Status: Full-time, at-will - includes holidays, weekend and evenings


We’re seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to serve as the Director of Weekend Experience and Special Events. This pivotal role is responsible for creating exceptional guest experiences, from the moment individuals arrive on campus to the moment they leave, while fostering a welcoming and vibrant environment that reflects our mission and values.

As a key member of our team, you will oversee aspects of weekend services, special events, and guest engagement, ensuring a seamless and inspiring experience for attendees. This role requires a passionate leader with a heart for ministry, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead and develop high-performing volunteer teams. 


Specific Responsibilities:

Create a Welcoming & Exciting Guest Experience

  • Ensure a cohesive and inviting "vibe" throughout the campus, reflecting service themes and topics.
  • Partner with the communications team to attract guests and promote events.
  • Oversee the campus's visual appeal, including signage, music, and aesthetics.
  • Design and implement quarterly themes and activities to engage the community (e.g., Fall Kickoff, Christmas, Spring, Summer initiatives).

Team Development

  • Lead and oversee 11 weekend volunteer teams:
  • Road Warriors
  • Outside Hosts/Greeters
  • Lobby Hosts/Greeters
  • Hospitality
  • Ushers
  • Offering & Communion
  • Communion Prep
  • Guest Lounge/Welcome Center
  • First Aid
  • Security
  • Set-up & Tear-down
  • Recruit, train, and develop weekend volunteers, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Establish clear operating procedures and quality standards for all teams, including security protocols.
  • Create a unified volunteer culture with shared behaviors, values, and goals to ensure an optimal guest experience.
  • Maintain consistency in systems and procedures across all weekend services.
  • Develop and manage the department's budget effectively.

Guest Follow-Up & Connection

  • Create a welcoming guest lounge experience tailored for first-time visitors.
  • Personally follow up with first-time guests through phone and email within days of their visit.
  • Guide new guests toward ministries, groups and events to help them get connected.

Special Events Development & Execution

  • Design and execute family-friendly special events to attract the community to the campus (e.g., Fall Festival, Christmas events, Breakaway).
  • Develop creative methods to encourage guests to return for weekend services, such as text-in raffles and photo booths.
  • Build and lead a dedicated special events team to run year-round events at the Adventure campus.

Support Global Events

  • Collaborate with the Global Events team to host concerts, conferences, and other special gatherings at the Adventure campus.
  • Ensure campus readiness for events and a smooth transition back to weekend services.
  • Recruit and mobilize Adventure volunteer teams to assist with global events and concerts.
