The Discovery Green Conservancy Marketing Manager creates social media content, signage and collateral. This position is responsible for updating and maintaining the website and manages part-time brand Ambassadors and merch cart. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage social media and content marketing that connects with audiences and is responsive to the community
  • Develop Discovery Green editorial calendar ensuring sponsor’s marketing requirements are met, coordination with PR and promotion of key initiatives including: 

               Live events and programs

               Park amenities, such as the public art, fountains, playgrounds etc… 

               Conservancy mission and impact  

               Development initiatives 

  • Work with graphic designers, web developers, freelance photographers and writers to create collateral online and in print
  • Website maintenance 

               Oversee all Discovery Green website content 

               Ensure accuracy of event listings 

               Package event listings, special events and website posts to increase engagement 

  • Hire, train and manage Discovery Green’s part-time Ambassadors ensuring that: 

               All visitors are greeted in a warm, friendly manner and all questions are answered accurately

               Ambassadors can confidently and kindly convey park rules in ways that encourage compliance 

               Ambassadors are scheduled for daily merchandise cart shifts as well as for events and programs 

               Ambassadors are scheduled to loan toys and games 

  • Manage merchandise cart

               Purchase, receive and process new inventory

               Collaborate on new merch designs and ideas

               Create fun ways to increase sales 

  • Other duties as assigned; all Conservancy employees work together as a team and frequently assist each other in every department when needed. 
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism or related field 
  • Experience in marketing management with strong social media, content creation, graphic design and online marketing skills
  • Experience in brand merchandising and sales 
  • Strong video editing, graphic design and writing skills
  • Solid analytical and project management skills
  • Strong creative outlook and a clear communicator
  • Passion for Discovery Green’s mission
