IGS is currently recruiting a remote Personnel Security Specialist to support our FSO. 


The Personnel Security Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). This position primarily focuses on personnel security while also assisting in various security-related functions to ensure compliance and safety within the organization.

  

This position is pending contract award, applicants will be reviewed post-award.   


Assignment of Work and Travel: This is a remote access assignment. Candidates will work remotely daily and will remotely access IGS systems and therein use approved IGS provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite meetings as requested.


Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):

  • The Personnel Security Specialist will assist the FSO and leadership team in the execution of all security-related functions
  • Support security training initiatives, creating, reviewing, tracking, and launching training for all staff 
  • Assist with self-inspection and review of security processes to ensure compliance
  • Support new hire processing/onboarding for classified and unclassified contracts and serve as the main POC for new hires as it relates to security onboarding 
  • Provide security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training
  • Provide outgoing Visit Access Request (VAR) and access certifications
  • Review SF-86 investigations (eAPP) for completeness and serve as a point of contact through the submittal of the application via NBIS
  • Assist in preparation for DCSA Security Reviews
  • Support the management of DD254s for prime and partner organizations
  • Assist with developing/revising Security policy documents (SPP, ITP, and other applicable documents)
  • Assist with performing status checks on current investigations, determining upcoming reinvestigation dates, and relaying the information back to a staff member and FSO 
  • Create, maintain, and audit personnel security files in accordance with NISPOM and company requirements
  • Support ad hoc projects as requested 
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in personnel security
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance
  • Knowledge of NISPOM requirements
  • Strong work ethic, intense drive, and initiative for quality and customer service
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
  • Experience using SharePoint as a document library
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
  • Detail-oriented and possesses strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies:

  • An advanced degree in any field.
  • Experience in personnel security roles.
  • Knowledge of personnel security regulations.
  • Prior successful experience working in a remote environment.
  • Strong proficiency with utilizing Security portals (NISS, DISS, ACCS, & NBIS)
  • Security focused certifications or training

Compensation: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
