Description
  • Ensures aseptic techniques, BSI, and infection control procedures are used in the process of all sterile supplies; uses biological monitors, follows documented sterilization techniques.
  • Maintains sterilization records; records humidity/temperature logs; prepares monthly biological reports.
  • Maintains sterilizers; checks gauges, pressure & drain filter; performs manual shutdown/reset of machines; maintains documentation; follows protocol for recall/collection of instruments when process is interrupted.
  • Performs decontamination process to prepare instruments/trays for sterilization.
  • Monitors use of medical supplies/equipment; ensures equipment is functioning properly; reports repairs to a Bio-Medical Technician.
  • Delivers supplies; maintains adequate inventory levels, including rental stock; requisitions restock items.
  • Assists in the OR Department stocking supplies, delivering instruments, patient transport.
  • Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalency. 
  • Demonstrated computer skills. 
  • Related experience and Central Service Technician registration required.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Clerical perception required to detect errors and discrepancies and maintain related records and reports. 
  • Motor coordination and finger dexterity required to operĀ­ate equipment. 
  • Adaptability to routine, organized procedures. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is of medium to heavy demand. 
  • Routine lifting requirements of less than 50 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. 
  • Standing and walking required throughout the shift. 
  • Sitting, reaching, pushing and pulling are required. 
  • Works inside.

Salary Description
$18 - $27 per hour Depending on Experience
