Description
- Ensures aseptic techniques, BSI, and infection control procedures are used in the process of all sterile supplies; uses biological monitors, follows documented sterilization techniques.
- Maintains sterilization records; records humidity/temperature logs; prepares monthly biological reports.
- Maintains sterilizers; checks gauges, pressure & drain filter; performs manual shutdown/reset of machines; maintains documentation; follows protocol for recall/collection of instruments when process is interrupted.
- Performs decontamination process to prepare instruments/trays for sterilization.
- Monitors use of medical supplies/equipment; ensures equipment is functioning properly; reports repairs to a Bio-Medical Technician.
- Delivers supplies; maintains adequate inventory levels, including rental stock; requisitions restock items.
- Assists in the OR Department stocking supplies, delivering instruments, patient transport.
- Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalency.
- Demonstrated computer skills.
- Related experience and Central Service Technician registration required.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Clerical perception required to detect errors and discrepancies and maintain related records and reports.
- Motor coordination and finger dexterity required to operĀate equipment.
- Adaptability to routine, organized procedures.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is of medium to heavy demand.
- Routine lifting requirements of less than 50 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
- Standing and walking required throughout the shift.
- Sitting, reaching, pushing and pulling are required.

Salary Description
$18 - $27 per hour Depending on Experience
