SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties and carries out responsibilities in the following areas: payroll, benefits administration, recruiting, hiring and onboarding, file maintenance. Must possess excellent organizational and interviewing skills, a good knowledge of all positions and functions of DASCO as well as personnel policies and federal/state employment practices and regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Collects information (including, but not limited to expense reports, bonus and on-call data, increased and department changes, etc.) for bi-weekly payroll.
2. Enters bi-weekly payroll data and communicates with DES for hours merge.
3. Review payroll previews from DES for accuracy and gives DES approve to process payroll.
4. Files paper and electronic files at the end of the pay cycle.
5. Assists Manager with the ongoing administration and onboarding of new hires and newly eligible employees to the benefit plans offered by DASCO.
6. Maintains company organizational chart
7. Send managers 90-day and annual review reminders
8. Maintains and updates electronic and paper medical and personnel files
9. Processes job requisitions ensuring approval by Senior Leadership.
10. Post ads internally and externally using a variety of sources, including relationships with colleges, universities and community placement offices as sources for qualified applicants.
11. May perform pre-screening of applicants for department managers.
12. My conduct reference checks.
13. schedules orientation and other necessary training; prepares and sends offer letter and other applicable pre-employment information.
14. Coordinates background checks and drug testing required for all new hires.
15. May conduct new hire orientation meetings
16. Will assist in trainings conducted by the HR Manager.
17. Other duties as assigned by Manager.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. Some college
2. 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to start with the possibility of flex scheduling based on department need and individual performance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is primarily a sedentary position, spending most of the workday sitting at a desk in an office setting. The employee may occasionally be required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include both close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
