Position Overview:
The Filler Equipment Operator plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of the packaging equipment at Cayuga Milk Ingredients Aseptic/ESL plant. This position focuses on cleaning, operating, and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance while adhering to GMP, SOP, HACCP, and food safety standards. The Operator supports the production of high-quality dairy products in a collaborative, safety-conscious environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet production goals in safety, quality, performance, and cost.
- Identify and report mechanical issues to improve productivity and equipment performance.
- Comply with all GMPs, SOPs, and company policies and procedures.
- Properly clean and operate equipment, completing checklists for verification.
- Set up line equipment, ensuring all steps are verified through provided checklists.
- Operate and monitor equipment while completing required documentation and quality checks.
- Ensure materials are supplied to the equipment and maintain accurate logbooks.
- Scan raw goods in accordance with standard procedures.
- Perform cleaning and preparation for production runs, including size changes.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting using manuals, internal resources, and online tools.
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness in the work area, using PPE when handling chemicals.
- Communicate effectively with Team Leaders, Quality Personnel, and Plant Management.
- Monitor equipment performance and notify management of quality concerns.
- Use Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures as necessary.
- Promote a continuous improvement mindset by completing assigned tasks.
- Gain proficiency in line circuits and ensure correct hookups.
- Cover staffing needs, including breaks and lunches, as assigned.
- Adhere to all legal, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
- Report safety and food safety concerns promptly and take corrective action.
- Communicate effectively across shifts and departments.
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to perform basic to complex mathematical calculations (e.g., weights, measures).
- Strong language skills for reading, writing, and communication.

Education and Experience:
- GED or High School Diploma.
- 1+years of manufacturing experience (preferred), operating line machinery preferred.

- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and appropriate workplace behavior.
- Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
- Accurately complete all required documentation and communicate with incoming operators during shift changes.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 1st shift. Schedule is subject to future change to include 12 hour days and the addition of a second shift,

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to navigate all areas of the facility, including office spaces, warehouse areas, and the exterior perimeter.

- Ability to stand, sit, and carry out tasks throughout a full shift, with appropriate meal breaks.
- Physically capable of standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, and crouching as needed.
- Able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier objects with reasonable accommodations.
