Pacor, located in Bordentown, NJ, is looking to add an entry level Machine Operator to their staff. A Machine Operator fabricates fiberglass insulation, meeting or exceeding customer specifications by utilizing sheeters, press machines, laminators and CNC machines, along with assembly and other assigned duties.
The ideal candidate has basic computer knowledge, the ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly, and a focus on safety and quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produces Product by use of machine.
- Assures operational status of machine at beginning of shift
- Reviews production work orders to determine type and quantity of production materials needed.
- Verifies that material received from Warehouse Associate matches material listed on work order.
- Sets up appropriate equipment making necessary adjustments/loads/feeds material into machine.
- Removes finished product from machine.
- Loads finished product into appropriate shipping containers.
- Maintains accurate count of parts packed.
- Assures quality by comparison of finished product with print or template.
- Completes required First and Last article inspections.
- Inspects completed cartons at end of each job run to assure they are labeled in accordance with work traveler.
- If using a die press, removes dies not required for next job run.
- Cleans and inspects die.
- Reports any damage to Supervisor.
- Returns die to proper location on die rack.
- Vacuums and cleans work center thoroughly.
- Scans in actual run time, including set-up time.
2. Maintains Machine
- Clean up machine and area around machine
- Ensure operational status and contact maintenance if there is a problem
- Make minor adjustments to ensure items produced are meeting the quality standards for the order
- Produces product by Assembly.
3. Other Duties.
- Packs finished goods by use of compression equipment.
- Operates oven, if applicable to location.
- Operate trash compactor.
- Actively participates in QP3/Lean manufacturing initiatives
- Any other duties as requested
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent general education degree
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions in English
- Use and read a ruler to within 1/16 of an inch
- Accurately complete basic math skills including calculating linear/square footage and work with fractions using a calculator.
- Use a computer to understand blueprints and read work orders.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance, on a regular basis.
- Previous manufacturing/machine operation experience
