The Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of private events. From leading staff to ensuring guest satisfaction, your responsibilities are key to the success of each event. You will serve as the primary point of contact for hosts, ensuring the seamless execution of event details, from setup to breakdown, while maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness.
Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Adhere to the event checklist and ensure all tasks are completed according to schedule.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, reporting for day or night shifts on time.
- Familiarize yourself with event details outlined in Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and follow instructions from management.
- Prepare and submit requisition forms for necessary equipment and supplies.
- Communicate effectively with banquet team members using designated communication forms to ensure smooth event operations.
- Coordinate and assist in event setup and breakdown in an organized and efficient manner, following BEOs closely.
- Steps-of-Service Implementation: Implement event steps-of-service and delegate staff tasks accordingly based on managerial instructions.
- Supervise and direct event staff, ensuring they carry out assigned duties effectively.
- Adhere to quality standards, departmental policies, and procedures at all times.
- Engage with party hosts in a friendly and accommodating manner.
- Communicate effectively with Front of House and Back of House managers to address special requests and resolve issues promptly.
- Complete assigned side work and support new server training as needed.
- Provide detailed post-event documentation, highlighting any areas for improvement, and reconcile consumption reports.
Compensation & Benefits:
· Pay: $20 base hourly rate plus service charge averaging $33.00 - $40.00 per hour

- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in Food & Beverage industry
- The position requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and organization skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to contribute to the overall atmosphere of teamwork with fellow Team Members.
- Effectively able to communicate meal requirements, dietary needs, and special request to kitchen
- Is effective at time management, prioritizing tasks working under stress, and exercising good judgment with guest and employee situations and challenges
- Must have flexibility in performing different job roles within the department
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to contribute to the overall atmosphere of teamwork with fellow Team Members.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
