POSITION SUMMARY: 

Assist with Preschool program activities as well as guiding/helping the children adjust and grow within the program guidelines. Help to design and implement an early childhood curriculum in compliance with Maine’s Early Learning Standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for a group of children, helping each child adjust and grow with other children within the program guidelines.
  • Assist with implementing daily curriculum/routine for children to follow.
  • Assist with all classroom activities including set up and clean–up of activities as assigned.
  • Follow all program procedures and guidelines in conjunction with the AYCC standard operating procedures and DHHS guidelines.
  • Comply with and participate fully in the instruction of arts and crafts, games, music time, story time, bounce houses, weekly special activities, and education programs. 
  • Ability to observe child behavior and assess its appropriateness, enforce relevant safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
Requirements

 KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Some proven experience working with groups of young children.

WORK SCEHDULE:

Monday - Friday / 9:00am-5:30pm 

Salary Description
$14.65-$16.48 per hour
