Description

  

Key Responsibilities:


Clinical Services:

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients of all ages.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing and managing psychotropic medications.
  • Provide psychotherapy, as appropriate, or collaborate with licensed therapists for psychotherapy services.

Collaboration and Integration:

  • Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary team approach to care.
  • Participate in integrated care initiatives, ensuring coordination between behavioral health and medical services.
  • Be on call for medication consultation 24/7. On rotation with other medical providers within behavioral health.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Ensure compliance with FQHC policies, HIPAA regulations, and state and federal requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.



   


Requirements

Qualifications:

  

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) and board certification/board eligibility in Psychiatry.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of direct clinical experience in psychiatric care, preferably with a focus on children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 6-25).
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in CT
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in community health settings or with underserved populations preferred.
  • Familiarity with integrated care models and team-based care is desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong diagnostic and treatment skills for a wide range of mental health conditions.
  • Ability to deliver trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
