Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Security, the security shift supervisor is responsible for the safety and security of persons including Camillus House employees, clients, guest of/and visitors to   the campus; the protection of Camillus House property, including buildings, grounds, equipment, and other assets of the organization. The security shift supervisor will supervise security officers to assigned shift providing   direction and guidance in day-to-day assignments as well as aid in emergency situations or conditions and act appropriate to the crisis within legal   limits of the department's authority.

· Patrols campus   grounds and buildings by foot checking doors, windows, and gates to ensure   they are secured. This position also watches for any signs of fires or safety hazards and reports the same.

· Conducts   regular checks and inspections to ensure building safety and security   including entering each dormitory to confirm his/her presence to the   residents. 

· Reports damage, malfunctions, faulty equipment/utilities, or any unusual, questionable, dangerous, or suspicious conditions/activities anywhere on campus, indoors   and outdoors. 

· Assists all   persons in complying with Camillus House regulations and rules of conduct on   campus, including issuing traffic and parking citations when appropriate. 

· Provides   security coverage for special organization functions as assigned by a   security shift supervisor.

· Provides crowd control when necessary and as assigned by a security shift supervisor.

· Responds to requests for routine departmental services (unlocking suites, offices and   meeting spaces for person authorized to enter).

Essential Skills and Experience: This position requires 1 to 3 of experience in a supervisory capacity within the security field. Demonstrate a track record in making sound decisions based on good judgment on a frequent basis. Furthermore, the position requires the ability to read and interpret departmental policies, procedures, and   instructions and communicate in written format, and sufficient manual dexterity to perform all functional responsibilities. This position requires the ability to operate job related equipment. The person in this position must be skilled in conflict resolution and avoidance and have   exemplary personal relations skills. 


Work Environment: This position performs work indoors and outdoors, with exposure to dust, dirt, etc. and may be required to work in adverse or inclement weather and in confined spaces.

Work Schedule:

· Ability to work a flexible work schedule. Shifts vary (weekends and evenings as needed).

· Particular shift requirements/locations as noted below:  7am-3:30pm, 3pm-11:30pm, 11pm-7:30am

Requirements
  • Ability to understand and practice the mission of Camillus House.
  • Education: high school diploma or GED; any appropriate combination of education, experience and/or certification will be considered.
  • Language: Proficiency in oral/written English; Spanish preferred; additional languages a plus (i.e. Creole).
  • Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment.
  • This position requires the applicant to be at least 21 years old and have no felony criminal convictions.
  • This position requires a Class-D FL Security License and 4-5 years of Security experience, with a minimum of 2 years as a Security Supervisor.
  • Successful completion of Level II screening for all licensed clinicians and others if required by funding source.
  • Valid FL Driver License with clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of Toxicology test, L2 Background Screening, and OIG Reference Check 
  • Culturally sensitive to the social, psychological and healthcare needs of the vulnerable populations serviced. 
  • Working knowledge of two-way portable radio, AED, and flashlight for perimeter patrols; golf cart as applicable. CPR and basic first aid certifications are preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead a team of officers with a high level of productivity while remaining calm and effective under pressure. 
  • A self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as, with multidisciplinary teams and co-workers. 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances
