Position Summary:

The Director, Operational Excellence, Analytics and Performance is responsible for serving as a change agent for the development and implementation of major process improvement initiatives throughout the division. Drives process improvement initiatives that create long-term cost savings and efficiencies with the strongest return on investment (ROI).


Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating business and process improvements in all areas of divisional operations. 
  • Effectively communicates, motivates, and creates accountability with divisional leadership and shared service counterparts such as IT, RCM, and Finance. 
  • Work independently to partner with operational leaders and teams to scope, define and lead initiatives in support of business innovation and strategy.
  • Collaborates with operational leaders and process users to ensure integration of projects, making recommendations to and adjusting project recommendations, scope, and timing as needed to meet the overall strategic needs of the division.
  • Serve as an internal consultant to department leaders on the development and refinement of strategic plans.
  • Play a key role in driving major corporate strategy and innovation initiatives as well as short and long duration planning processes.
  • Play a key role in driving the organization toward and sustaining a culture of customer centricity.
  • Develop and communicate divisional level strategies and innovation opportunities to executives that may include new business opportunities and competitive positioning.
  • Lead deep-dive business analysis and initiatives targeted to drive growth and operational excellence.
  • Identifies the scope of work through a discovery process including key personnel, documenting current processes, and identifying current challenges.
  • Responsible for working with other business unit leadership to assess the risk of initiatives or business activities, develop mitigation strategies, and track progress against those initiatives.
  • Oversee and participate in large cross-functional working sessions or meetings to align strategy and plan while also providing continuous improvement coaching and mentoring to team members.
  • Participates in the development of programs as a strategic partner that supports the company plan.
  • Escalate key issues and risks to senior leaders.
  • Develops and presents presentations of proposals and scheduled updates to include process improvement concepts, budgets and investment requirements, timing schedules, desired results, value propositions, prioritization schedules, ROI reports and other measurement tools.
  • Creates Process Flow diagrams and performs Value Stream Mapping activities to harvest areas of improvement and cost reduction.  
  • Maintains knowledge of industry best practices for Kaizen methodology and project management.
  • Develops and maintains working knowledge of current Diabetes products and services offered by the company.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and functions within the guidelines of HIPAA.
  • Completes assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.
  • Maintains compliant with AdaptHealth’s Compliance Program and applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Management/Supervision:

  • Responsible for selection and hiring of qualified staff, ensuring an effective on-boarding, and providing comprehensive training and regular feedback.
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Establishes annual goals and objectives for the department based on the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Responsible for achieving organizational performance and retention goals, including timely completion of performance evaluations.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, public administration, or relevant discipline from an accredited college required, Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience required in business management systems, process improvements, or project management.
  • Five (5) years of management experience in related position is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license in the state of residence

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Work environment will be stressful at times, as overall office activities and work levels fluctuate.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, stand, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Subject to long periods of sitting and exposure to computer screen.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and/or fingers due to extensive computer use.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds as needed.
  • Excellent ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • May be exposed to angry or irate customers or patients.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with internal and external customers with the ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, courtesy, and respect for privacy.
  • May be required to travel as needed.
