InterCommunity, Inc is a FQHC LA (Federally Qualified Health Center Look Alike). Our health center provides same-day primary care services to every member of the community, regardless of life situation or ability to pay. We also provide a wide array of behavioral health services. 


Our community Health Care Centers are located at 281 Main St. East Hartford, 16 Coventry St. Hartford and 828 Sullivan Ave., South Windsor. InterCommunity’s Addiction Services offers a similarly wide range of substance use treatment and recovery-supportive services, with many sites in the Hartford area. 


We provide services across the spectrum of care, including primary care, residential detoxification and substance use treatment, multiple levels of residential care, outpatient substance use disorder and mental health services for adults and children, intensive outpatient programs, employment and community support, mobile crisis evaluations, judicial support services and social rehabilitation.

Eligibility Requirements:

Summary:


Accountable for providing clinical and/or direct care psychiatric services as a board-certified advanced clinician.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct care and clinical oversight of multi-disciplinary treatment teams
  • Reviews treatment plans, clinical records, diagnoses, and client discharge plans for adherence to policies and/or JCAHO and DPH standards
  • Provides education and training as indicated, e.g. case conferences; assignments
  • Assesses, examines and evaluates clients for admission or discharge
  • Assesses, examines, diagnoses and prescribes appropriate medications and other biologic and psychosocial treatments for clients with psychiatric illnesses and substance abuse disorders
  • Performs advanced level risk assessments
  • Consults on difficult and/or complex cases
  • Prepares and/or reviews reports, medical records and correspondence
  • Performs utilization review and management functions
  • Participates in Agency meetings and Performance Improvement teams as appropriate
  • Adheres to Agency policies and procedures and maintains Agency confidentiality guidelines
  • Attends regular program staff meetings
  • Attends weekly individual supervision. Follows all aspects of agency Supervision Plan
  • Performs related duties as required

Requirements

Education &/Or Experience:

     

Three (3) years of experience in a hospital or outpatient setting as a staff psychiatrist. Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license to practice medicine and surgery in Connecticut. A temporary license may be granted for a period not to exceed one (1) year. Incumbents in this class must possess and retain certification as a specialist in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and   Neurology or board certification in Adult or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Incumbents in this class must possess and maintain eligibility for participation in federal health care programs as defined in 42 U.S. 1320a-7b(f). Incumbents in this class are required to possess appropriate current licenses, certifications, or permits.

Salary Description
Starting at $130,000
