Forklift Operator I
Description

 Pre-Employment Drug Screen will be required. This position starts at $17 per hour.  

Operate powered forklift to load and unload materials and deliveries; move them to and from storage areas, loading docks, trucks and/or storage facilities.

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading goods from trailers
  • Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility
  • Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions
  • Checking loads are secure
  • Stacking empty pallets
  • Performing daily equipment checks such as refueling the truck’s propane tank
  • Removing waste material from the warehouse facility
  • Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards
  • Comply with company rules, regulations, and safety practices as well as any local, state, or federal job-related regulations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements:

  • Possess current forklift license
  • Safely perform general floor movement of materials while operating the forklift
  • Might also operate a standup forklift
  • Communicate effectively
  • Forklift certification per OSHA standards

Physical Demands and Abilities:

  • Regularly sitting on a powered industrial forklift for up to 12 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
  • Good eye-hand-foot coordination and balance
  • Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
  • A concern for quality and safety
  • A willingness to learn new skills
  • Ability to sustain a steady work pace and follow a schedule
  • Ability to withstand extreme heat during summer season, at times reaching over 100 degrees

Minimum Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
