Alvarado Parkway Institute is currently seeking a qualified individual to join our team as the Executive Director of Outpatient Services. The Executive Director of Outpatient Services provides administrative oversight and responsibility for all outpatient services and programs. This position develops and administers a comprehensive outpatient program that responds to the community’s needs and supports the organization’s overall mission, philosophy, and goals; to integrate the management of the outpatient system into API’s continuum of care.

Executive Director of Outpatient Services Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates creativity or resourcefulness in identifying and procuring program materials
- Demonstrates programming skills for a wide variety of patient diagnoses and needs.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures for Outpatient Services and a plan for ensuring ongoing quality improvement.
- Serves as a participating member of API Senior Leadership/Management Team
- Attends Senior Leadership meetings regularly and actively updates team on progress, needs, and goals for Outpatient Services.
- Treatment plans are competently designed and are easily adaptable for patients admitted to outpatient from another level of care or being discharged to another level of care within the organization.
- Identifies mechanisms for enhancing multi-disciplinary involvement and cooperation
- Maintains effective, regular communication with clinical managers from other programs, ensuring the exchange of pertinent information, including such information as changes in services, hours, staff and goals; seeks input from clinical managers regarding service policies and developments that will have an impact upon them utilizing the outpatient system
- Voluntarily provides direct patient services to other departments during times of excessive workloads and encourages the involvement of other staff in such supportive efforts
- Within established time frames, collects and interprets data from marketing efforts in the community to identify areas for improvement.
- Identifies and implements a Marketing Performance Improvement Plan for outpatient services delegates and ensures the effective implementation of the plan.
- Seeks and incorporates input from the CEO, management team and clinical staff.
- Monitors performance against desired results, communicating findings regularly to CEO and other key organizational members. Modifies plan as necessary.
- Conducts market research; analyzes data, considers organizations business objectives and mission as basis for marketing strategy.
- Is sought out by others in resolving difficult matters or in addressing issues requiring an advanced level of expertise.
- Takes initiative to review and revise job description prior to reviewing applicants' qualifications.
- Follows company policy in interviewing candidates, avoiding inappropriate questions.
- Demonstrates and applies an understanding of both employee morale enhancement as well as individual reinforcement, including the distinctions between these.
- Demonstrates the basic mathematical skills required for department's budget management.
- Provides requested budget input to CFO in a timely and accurate manner.
- Demonstrates behavior that reflects favorably on the hospital's and corporation's public image.
- Participates as requested, communicating input through the appropriate chain-of- command, in development and implementation of short- and long- term goals and objectives.
- Works with Program Directors to review documentation to ensure clinical appropriateness, completeness and adherence to regulatory standards. Oversees Outpatient review of documentation.
- Ensures that Outpatient Services are meeting documentation standards set by payor sources as well as State and Federal Requirements.
- Establishes and maintains good rapport and working relationships to foster intra and inter-departmental communications necessary for the delivery of quality patient care; responds to requests for information from patients, families and caregivers; provides directions as necessary; reflects the confidentiality of patient and organization information; communicates pertinent information as necessary by telephone and/or writing.
- Approaches co-workers assertively and respectfully; confronts problems in a constructive, solution-oriented manner.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to priorities in assignments; performs routine assignments independently, seeking direction when indicated for unusual or non-routine duties; advises appropriate personnel of situations requiring additional expertise or technical follow-up.

Required Education, Experience, and Certifications:
- General knowledge of all areas of psychiatric and outpatient treatment

Preferred Education, Experience, and Certifications:
- Advanced degree in a behavioral science or mental health-related field preferred; and/or administrative experience in inpatient and outpatient & mental health settings preferred

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to do the following:

Covid-19 and Flu Vaccinations; Medical
- Provide a copy of COVID-19 Vaccination OR have an Exemption Request (Deferred Pregnancy, Medical, or Religious) approved by the API HR Director; and those who have an approved Exemption must undergo weekly COVID-19 testing and observe all other infection control requirements, including face coverings.
- Annual Flu vaccination is required as a condition of hire and ongoing employment. Only those who are allergic to the vaccine or meet contraindications as indicated on the current CDC Vaccine Information Statement shall be exempt from this condition of hire and ongoing employment but are required to wear a mask while inside an API owned or operated building or vehicle during influenza season, Employees must provide physician documentation to support any reported allergy or contraindication. Flu season typically runs between November and March.
- Pass drug and alcohol test performed by Concentra.
- Clear TB skin test or Chest X-Ray at Concentra.
